Are there grants for double glazing in Wales?

The short answer is: No.

At the time of writing, there are no official grants in Wales for replacing inefficient windows or doors, regardless of your income or home condition.

The Welsh Government’s Warmer Homes Programme provides limited help to vulnerable people, but it’s focused on heating bills, not home improvements. Some councils may offer ECO Flex funding, but this only covers central heating or insulation, not windows or doors.

There are some interest-free loan options through local authorities, but they’re usually means-tested, come with admin fees, and have to be paid back.

Despite this, many websites advertise “ECO grants” or “energy funding” for double glazing. These are often misleading. You fill in a form thinking you’re checking eligibility, but what’s really happening is your information is being collected to sell to sales companies.

These forms typically ask:

  • What type of windows or doors you need
  • How many
  • Your location and contact details

After that, expect sales calls. The “grant” or “help to buy” concept disappears, replaced by a pitch for finance or a supposed “discount.”

Square Hub is different. We don’t sell false promises. Our mission is to connect you with local, vetted companies offering transparent pricing, finance if you need it, and genuine customer service.

If a grant ever becomes available, we’ll let you know. But until then, don’t be fooled by campaigns claiming to offer what doesn’t exist.
